My most important book of the last couple years is the Krisitin Lavransdatter Trilogy. Can't recommend enough.

GKC's The Everlasting Man is a wonderful way banish one's historical materialism.

I'm putting that on my reading list (KL). I've never heard of it!

What a fine idea! I'm sorry you got electrocuted. My goodness, that must have been awful! I adore the Snow Queen, all Kundera's works, and The Haunting of Hill House as well. I used to not love reading as a child, but Mark Twain changed my mind about that.

I need to read more Kundera! Snow Queen is the only one I've read. Oooh, Mark Twain is good. I particularly like A Connecticut Yankee. Do you have a favorite?

I love Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn. And yes, I think you'd love other books by Kundera! Maybe try Ignorance; The Book of Laughter and Forgetting; Laughable Loves.

The Space Trilogy is so good... was just reflecting on the chillingly accuracy of That Hideous Strength. I'll have to check out Loving the Little Years.
